Claire Gwyn, CCE, LC

Claire Gwyn (she/her) is a Certified Childbirth Educator (CCE), Lactation Counselor (LC) , and Sexual Wellness Educator. Her background in theatre, visual arts, and education allows for compelling, enlightening, and joyful classes and discussions.

Claire was raised in a home filled with birth workers; birth was always seen as a beautiful, physiological process. When she was pregnant, it occurred to her that not everyone had the same upbringing with valuable information at their fingertips. In fact, it seemed there was still vast amounts of misinformation surrounding pregnancy and birth. Claire is a passionate reproductive justice activist and sees sex, pregnancy, and childbirth as pieces of the puzzle. She decided to dedicate her career to empowering individuals with accurate, evidence-based information so they can comfortably make decisions that work for them.

Claire stays current on evidence-based information and continues her education in all things reproduction. She is trained in trauma-informed care and celebrates people from all backgrounds.

Claire lives in Austin, Texas with her husband James, son Arthur, dog Meeko, cat Oinksy, and chickens Shadow, Tammy, and Reba.

There is an abundance of information out there regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum; it’s incredibly overwhelming.

Often times pertinent information is presented to a pregnant person when they’re in their third trimester, making it difficult emotionally and logistically to make changes. How are you to decide on birth preferences if you don’t even know what all the options are? What if your care provider is bias and doesn’t support one or more of your desires? You deserve all the information so you can make true fully informed decisions.

We have heard “I didn’t know I had a choice” too many times. We’re here to keep that from happening. You deserve individual, evidence-based care.
